Joseph McMahon, Esq.

Joseph J. McMahon practices in the area of commercial litigation with a concentration in Construction Law, Mechanic’s Lien Law and Surety Law. Mr. McMahon has twenty years experience in construction litigation, dispute resolution and avoidance, and counseling. Mr. McMahon regularly advises Owners, Condominium Sponsors, Real Estate Developers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers and Sureties during all phases of the development and construction process. Mr. McMahon spent 4 years of his career as in-house counsel to a Real Estate Developer/General Contractor gaining valuable insight into the day to day operations of an active construction project from the contract negotiation phase all the way to final completion. Mr. McMahon represents clients in construction disputes, mechanic’s lien foreclosures, delay claims, change order negotiation and disputes, trust fund claims, and surety and insurance issues.In addition, he advises clients in contract negotiations with a particular emphasis on construction contracts.

 

He has appeared in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels, in arbitrations and mediation proceedings, and in quasi-judicial proceedings before state and municipal agencies.
